Year 4

Children in year 4 could look at advertisments for children's products - toys/computer games/food and discuss them. What are they trying to sell? What words are used ? What information is not on the advert? How could they re-make the advert with different words to give a more balanced  description of the product?

Can the children make their own advert in two forms?

a. to show a product as the best in the world

b. to show it as a terrible thing

What difference does a black and white image make to our perception of a product?

Take photographs of our favourite things a. in colour b. in black and white.

Write captions for adverts - how does the caption change what we think?

Continue to use digital voice recorders/design web-sites/animation.

Introduce film - make a short silent film. Add music.
